Born and raised in the Philippines, Florante grew up predominantly within Roman Catholicism. After marrying, his work took him to various parts of the world, where he encountered different religions. Upon arriving in Australia in 2011, he was introduced to the gospel through attending GraceWest Sunday services and Bible studies.

Florante now serves as a deacon of GraceWest Bible Church. He and his wife, Cha, have one teenage son, Ovel. Florante desires to see the local church stand as a beacon of God’s truth in the community and for its members to be faithful men who are able to teach others also.
